Bio
Md Alimoor Reza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Drake University. He leads the Computer Vision and Robotics Lab at Drake University. His research interest lies in the intersection of computer vision, machine learning and robotics, focusing on the development of novel algorithms for perception tasks such as semantic segmentation, object detection exploiting the 3D information. His works appear in premier conferences in computer vision, robotics and artificial intelligence eg, IROS, 3DV, BMVC, WACV. Prior to joining Drake University, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Indiana University Bloomington advised by David Crandall. He received his Ph.D in 2018 from George Mason University with his advisor Jana Kosecka. Prior to that, he obtained his M.S. in Computer Science from Drexel University and B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He worked at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) in 2017 where he was a recipient of the Summer Journeyman Fellowship. He also worked as a research intern at 3M Company in summer 2015.
